Abstract [en]
My essay is nothing else but a fable; it is a story about the thing which becomes the subject, the living thing which doesn't need any relation to human existence. I think we really need to investigate the object considering its relations, and this also means that we as subjects have to think about our relations as well. This is a story that illustrates how I have put some effort into understanding on the one hand Immanuel Kant's "Critique of pure reason", and on the ther hand the outcome of that critique that I would dare to name the new speculative realism wave which is or pretends to shake not only contemporary continental philosophy but very much the field of artistic practice as well.

[I examensarbetet ingår utställningen "Memorial":]
My work is about a certain view to materialism as such by emphasizing on the matter in motion. It is about everchanging matter that man only is capable to reflect on. The structures that human minds creates are relevant only if it is dialectic: "The ideal is nothing else than the material world reflected by the human mind, and translated into forms of thought" - Karl Marx, Das Kapital, vol 1.
I don't want to question the material that artists is engaged with but more what method she uses to create her structures and how these structures are subjugated to the institutional system that is very much a representation of the state and economic system as abstraction for maintaning the false illusion of human freedom. Thus I think we need to reflect on material conditions we are all in and stay away from highly atomized individualistic art practices. In the installation "Memorial", I made the ecclesiastical blueprint into unintelligent instrument stressing the reductive method of economy.
Material/Teknik/Mått: Installation: 25 min video "Final epilogue", 10 m of Lithuanian SSR fabric, 6 pieces of stained glass with swedish and lithuanian bank logos, 2 tables from "index" gallery, 2 laminated texts of banking system analysis in Lithuania.
