Abstract [en]
This work is an exploration of the nature of performativity in life, mostly in my own life, but also in teh livesof others, both friends and strangers, whom I have observed. The majority of the experiences documented here took place within a specificcontext in time and space, which is to say 2013 and within the nationalboundaries of three countries - Ireland, Sweden and the USA-which happens to be the three countries where I have lived for the majority of my own life. Thus this will be a travelogue, a diary, a prose poem and an invocation. Like awerness itself, it will be elusive and elliptical. This shall also in parts be a deliberationabout the sounds I have heard, and the rocks that I have held, and how these forces have changed the way I view the world around me and my place within it. I have alwaysbeen an artist of experience, which is to sayexperience has chiefly informed the decisionsI have made as an artist and the strategies I have employed. So I have chosen to write mainly about the experiences that moved me most during the timeof seeing the world anew.
